Marco Antonio Rubio has reportedly signed terms to face current WBA middleweight ruler Gennady Golovkin on October 18th over in Los Angeles. Rubio owns the WBC interim title at 160 lbs and is still bang in line to face full champion Miguel Cotto although that fight is unlikely to happen with the lineal champion supposedly keen on pursuing other avenues. The hard hitting Mexican (59(51)-6-1) is fresh off a stoppage win over Domenico Spada to capture his title and has stopped 8 of his last 10 opponents. His promoter Osvaldo Küchle inked terms for the fight over in the US today after HBO approved Rubio as an opponent for the unbeaten dangerman Golovkin (30(27)-0).
